CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION:<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

RICEVILLE UTILITY DISTRICT notifies customers of past due bills and payment issues via phone, text or email<\/strong> -we are asking all customers to please contact us to update your contact information when changes occur. To update your information, you can call us at 423-462-2701, or you can update with your payment, or on your portal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

RATE INCREASE (applies to AUGUST 2026 bill)<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n

RUD will be following policy and increasing bills 8% due to an 8% increase from Hiwassee Utility Commission (HUC). RUD works hard to keep our costs below current rates, but we are a distribution only utility therefore we purchase and pay for water from HUC; HUC has had a substantial rate increase yearly trying to keep up with State and Federal demands on infrastructure laws to stay in compliance. They have informed us that they are doing these projects in smaller segments therefore rate increases may continue in future years.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

RUD thanks all of our customers for helping keep our water loss lower this will aid in all State and Federal compliances that is daily getting harder on utilities. RUD will continue to work on proactive ways to ward off costs acquired by these requirements and avoid adding additional increases to HUC’s increases.<\/p>\n
